If you are one of the many consumers looking for a decent canister vacuum cleaner, something that can get to those hard to reach places, and something even suitable for use in the garage, then you may want to check out the Eureka Mighty Mite 3670G. With features like a good extension wand, a 20 foot power cord, a nozzle for bare floors, a 12 amp motor and a great floor brush you will be amazed at how much dirt this vacuum can pick up.

The great thing about this canister cleaner is that it is very easy to move around the home, it is light so can be carried easily when you need to go up and down stairs. Its compact size of 11x8x15 means it is simple to store and easy to get in and out when you are done cleaning. The 20 foot cord means there is plenty of length to allow you to move from one room to another without having to always change power outlets. The Eureka Mighty Mite Vacuum comes with a nice auto shut off too so if there should be any overheating it will automatically turn itself off. There is no risk of damage to the motor or your home this way. On its handle is the easy to reach way to power the cleaner and there is also a blower port should you need it.

Warranty and Price

A large part of why the Eureka Mighty Mite Vacuum is an attractive buy is its price. It will cost less than $100 which is far cheaper than most vacuum cleaners. Amazon is a good place to check for the best prices and to look at reviews. It comes with a one year warranty so if there is a problem in that time you can ask for a replacement or refund.

Mighty Mite’s Design

The Eureka Mighty Mite Vacuum cleaner is bright and though made of a good thick plastic that is durable it is still light weighing just a bit under 9 pounds. It is not an especially attractive cleaner, at one time the company earned awards from the industry for design in the 1980s, but those days are certainly past. However it is a good compact cleaner, can be carried by almost anyone and has a blower port for blowing away debris in the garage.

Compared to past units the wand and hose do feel a bit thinner in this model, but that said they still feel substantial enough. The brush head can be changed to use on carpeting or hard floors and while the clean up may not be prefect it should be effective enough for most people. However it is less stable on high carpeting and skids around. Compared to the Miele S2121 for example which is lot sturdier and more stable but then you pay a price for that this is 5 times that of the Mighty Mite.

The cord is not retractable and has to be manually wound up between two pegs under the canister, which is not ideal. Likely a lot of people will just wind the cord around their hand and then put the bundle on top of the canister on the closet. Another less than perfect part of its design is that in order to use the plastic wand you have to add another piece to extend it, and that piece has no place so could easily get lost.

This is a bagged machine but it is fairly easy to do and does not create a cloud of dust from emptying a dust cup that a lot of bagless machines have. Open the canister and sit a bag inside it making sure no corners are touching the lip of it. Then close the machine and you can clean. When it is time to dump the bag, open the canister again fold the tab on the bag over the front of it and should be sealed so you can pull it out and chuck it. There are better self-sealing bag systems out there, but it does work.

Summary

The Eureka Mighty Mite Vacuum cleaner is a straight suction vacuum and is really best suited to hard floors and short pile carpeting. On those surfaces it has a good performance when cleaning, debris and dust are collected well. However it does not have a brush roll that is powered so that means anything other than short carpeting is not going to get cleaned as effectively, as there is nothing agitating the dirt out from between the fibers. It is also worth mentioning that it might be a small vacuum cleaner but it makes quite a noise, a type of whining sound that is high pitched and may annoy you, small kids and pets until everyone is used to it!
